Oh my gosh, it's probably one of the most ridiculous games I have ever played. It's a blast. It's all about flying around, blowing shit up, and doing hilarious things with the grappling hook. It's also dirt cheap on the PS Store. Under $5 I think. I played it first on the PC (better because mods) years ago, but I just got it on PS3 when I saw the price and have been playing non-stop for the past couple weekends. Edit: just a head's up.the voice acting is horrible.
It bugs most people (including myself) when they first start playing, but you start accepting it as a so-bad-it's-funny part of the game. I still skip most of the cutscenes though now that I've played it through a couple times. It's great if you're good at being left to your own devices to have fun and/or like completion and collectables. Half of the time I spent playing the game consisted of walking into a town blowing up whatever I could, having a tussle with the law enforcement and then moving onto the next. The other half of the time I spent playing with the interesting physics engine. Is it like a open world, blow shit up type?
That's a pretty apt description. I hold it as one of my favorite games of all time but it's not for everyone. A physics engine is something in the game's code that assigns the properties of physics to the world.
So in Mario, the game's physics engine tells Mario to fall after jumping a certain height and how fast cars or something can move. In just cause 2, the physics engine tells the game how high gravity is, how airplane wings work in the air, how cars turn at certain speeds, etc. 'Playing' with the physics engine usually means doing crazy things like going off ramps with cars or tying a vehicle to a statue and making it topple over.
